Senior Web developer – PHP

We’re looking for a Senior Web Developer (PHP) to join our team. As a part of our Agile Development team, you will work with the latest technologies to develop software for our sports fan engagement sites.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analysis of requirements from internal and external stakeholders.

• Design and development of new software products and components.

• Producing high quality, tested and maintainable code, applying best practices and using state of the art technologies for the problem at hand.

• Investigation and resolution of issues reported by internal and external customers.

Required Skills: 

This position is for a person that has deep, demonstrable knowledge of the following:

• Professional spoken and written English

• Performant and SEO friendly sites

• Proven PHP expertise

• Exposure to WordPress development

Hands-on experience in the following would also be considered:

• CodeIgniter PHP framework

• MySql / MariaDb databases

Desirable Skills:

Technologies, concepts and domains that we will be working with in order to create our fan engaging sites and their content management tooling, which are highly desirable:

• Microservices

• Domain-Driven Design

• Messaging and communication technologies (REST, Web API, SignalR)

• TDD/BDD and supporting technologies (SpecFlow, Selenium)

• Front-end web technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React)

• Database and Caching Technologies (PostgreSQL)

• DevOps engineering

• Cloud technologies AWS/Azure

• Docker containerisation, CI/CD, Git repo

• Logging and Monitoring (Graylog, Graphite/Grafana)
